Description

L’Échangeur was created by the initiative of ALIS, a professional show company based in an disused 2000 m2 flour mill (le Moulin Canard) in the Aisne department.

L’Échangeur’s mission is to support, co-produce, and promote artists in such fields as dance, music, the plastic arts, and multidisciplinary show formats. At l’Échangeur, artists can find the time and space necessary for research and creation.

But the mission goes beyond simply supporting artists. It assumes its full meaning in the relations maintained with a population that has reasons to regret the regional inequalities of the cultural offering.

Since 1998, l’Échangeur has run contemporary dance classes at Fère-en-Tardenois.

Today, the main issue is that of developing this project towards its full potential. To this end, a renovation project has been planned for the south-eastern half of Moulin Canard, and an extension has been earmarked for creation of a rehearsal and work space.

L’Échangeur is involved in networking of theatres and cultural centres (Maison de la Culture d’Amiens ,Théâtre de Beauvais, Maison de la Culture et des Loisirs de Gauchy, Le Chevalet de Noyon, Centre Culturel de Tergnier, Saison Culturelle TransFrontalière d’Hirson...) in order to welcome artists in Picardie (residencies, creation, diffusion, workshops).
