RES ARTIS
RES ARTIS is an international association of residential arts centres and programmes which provide artists with facilities and conditions conducive to creative work and which actively involve artists from more than one country.
RES ARTIS provides a forum to support and represents the interests of residential arts centres and programmes internationally.
RES ARTIS seeks to foster residential arts centres and programmes that show a genuine will to sustain or improve the quality of artistic endeavours in any culture.
1) To encourage understanding of the work of residential arts centres and their catalytic role in the development of art and ideas in the contemporary world.
2) To collect and provide information on residential arts centres and programmes.
3) To represent members’ and artists’ interests to governmental agencies, international organisations, foundations and the corporate sector.
4) To provide expertise and advice to its members in response to their evolving needs.
5) To encourage and assist the development of new residential arts centres, particularly in regions where there are none or few.
6) To hold periodic meetings at which issues of interest to its members are addressed.
7) To bring about contacts, exchanges and collaborations between residential arts centres and programmes.
