INTERNATIONAL RENAISSANCE FOUNDATION


Geographic Focus: Primarily Ukraine.


The International Renaissance Foundation aims at fostering, both financially and organisationally, the formation of a democratic, open society in Ukraine by supporting civil initiatives that have a strong impact on civil society development.

Activities :

- Education : Supports reform in the educational system.

- Information : Publishes books that promote free dissemination of information; popularise open society values and mutual understanding between cultures, develop critical thinking and develop libraries as information centres open to the public.

- Culture : Aims to stimulate changes within the sphere, to support the development of contemporary art, to cooperate with the artistic element within the sphere of innovative projects and to develop inter-cultural communication and an understanding of ’otherness’.

- Minorities Activities : *Roma Programme: Supports effective integration of the Roma community into Ukrainian society.
*Ethnic Minority Programme: Promotes the formation of a multi-ethnic, multicultural and tolerant Crimean society as a part of a Ukraine.
